EZU RIVER was inspired by the tragic events in Awkuzu, Anambra state, where people are arbitrarily arrested, harrassed, killed and dumped in Ezu River by the SARS police unit. The father of one of the victims was forced by the officers to swim through and overturn each corpse, one by one, to see if he could find his son’s body. He never did.
