Artist: Dustin Klein

During the 2020 BLM protests, Virginia-based lighting artist Dustin Klein transformed the Robert E. Lee statue into a powerful symbol of resistance by projecting the faces of Black activists and leaders like John Lewis, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Harriet Tubman, and W.E.B. Du Bois, alongside victims of police brutality, including George Floyd and Breonna Taylor.
