On February 23, 2020, Ahmaud Arbery, a 25-year-old Black man, was fatally shot while jogging in Satilla Shores, Georgia, in a racially motivated hate crime. Three white men pursued him in trucks, blocking his path. Travis McMichael, armed with a gun, shot Arbery during a confrontation, while their neighbor, William Bryan, recorded the incident.
