Folarin Falana, better known as Falz, is a Nigerian rapper, songwriter, lawyer and actor. He is also a comedian who often incorporates humor into his performances. In October 2020, Falz called on other Nigerian celebrities to join the #EndSARS protests in Lagos, calling on the government to end police brutality.
The choice of the title character, “Johnny,” symbolized the common man, a representative figure embodying the countless victims who have suffered at the hands of police brutality. Falz's storytelling prowess unfolded a narrative that was not just an artistic endeavor but a social commentary on the systemic issues plaguing the nation.

Chike - Wahala Dey

Chike, Chike Ezekpeazu Osebuka, gained popularity with his participation in the Nigerian reality television show, "The Voice Nigeria,"  and “Project Fame West Africa” where he showcased his vocal talent. After the show, Chike embarked on a successful music career, releasing hit songs and gaining a significant following both in Nigeria and internationally. 
Chike is known for his soulful voice, captivating lyrics, and versatility in various music genres, including Afrobeats, R&B, and soul. His music often touches on themes of love, identity, and social issues, resonating with audiences across different demographics.
Chike's song "20.10.20 (Wahala Dey)" serves as a touching tribute to the tragic events that unfolded at the Lekki Toll Gate on October 20, 2020, during the #EndSARS protests in Nigeria. The title "20 10 20" directly references the date of the incident, which saw Nigerian security forces allegedly open fire on peaceful protesters gathered at the toll gate, resulting in multiple casualties and injuries.
"Wahala Dey," which translates to "There's Trouble," highlights the turbulent political and social climate in Nigeria and underscores the ongoing struggle for justice, accountability, and systemic reform.

Burna Boy, whose real name is Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and performing artist. He gained international recognition for his distinct Afro-fusion style which incorporates elements of reggae, dancehall, and Afrobeat. Burna Boy's music often addresses social and political issues, and he has become one of Africa's most prominent contemporary musicians.
As a prominent Nigerian artist with a large following, Burna Boy used his platform to raise awareness about the #EndSARS movement and advocate for social justice. 
He released a song titled "20 10 20" in honor of the victims of the Lekki Toll Gate massacre that occurred on October 20, 2020, during the #EndSARS protests.

Prinx Emmanuel - Man Down

Born Prince Emmanuel, this afro gospel singer, who goes by the stage name Prinx Emmanuel, is a Nigerian singer, music producer and sound engineer. His song, “Man down,” dwells creatively on the excesses of the Nigerian police. It vividly highlights the worrisome reality that being in possession of a big phone, car or spotting deadlocks was enough reason to provoke a Nigerian cop to kill a youth. His artistic contributions to the #EndSARS protests through songs further reinforce his ingenuous enthusiasm.

Ruggedman - Is Police your Friend?

Michael Ugochukwu Stevens popularly called Ruggedman is a gifted Nigerian rapper. He is one of the major voices against police brutality. Thus, when the #EndSARS protests started, he wasted no time in releasing a song titled, “Is police your friend?” The pictorial offering in the song presents it as one of the compelling songs raising awareness on police brutality. The production also has the song overlay of another Nigerian singer, Abass Obesere, singing “If you want to fire me, fire me make I die, I will never follow you to that station.’’ This expands the scope of the song’s themes.

Rapper, actor and comedian, Folarin ‘Falz’ Falana is also a lawyer who found comfort in music. He is son to parents who are senior lawyers in Nigeria with his father being an activist and one of the defenders of the country’s democracy.
Falz’s songs assert him as a chip off the old block and his lyrics are reminiscent of the bravery of the late famous afrobeat singer, Fela. This is reflective in this song titled, “This is Nigeria” which captures the worrying realities of the country.
The song is a representation of the suffering helpless youths faced in a badly governed country and in the hands of overzealous Nigerian cops who pull the trigger at the slightest provocation. The voice commentary on radio in the song belongs to his father who dissects the country’s myriad of problems. Falz is one of the major voices against police brutality in Nigeria.

Ruggedman - Fvck You (Cover)

Ruggedman emerged as a prominent artivist in the #EndSARS campaign. He was one of the few people who started the campaign with fellow activists on Twitter with the shared goal of addressing the alleged brutality perpetuated by the Nigerian Police's Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS). In April 2019, Ruggedman seized the opportunity presented by the viral trend of Kizz Daniel's "FvckYou Challenge" to amplify the #EndSARS cause, recognizing the immense potential of music as a platform for social commentary and activism.
His decision to record and release a cover of Kizz Daniel's hit song "Fvck You," dedicated to the Nigerian Police Force, served as a strategic move to further raise awareness about police brutality and the grievances fueling the #EndSARS movement. By participating in the #FvckYouChallenge, Ruggedman harnessed the widespread attention and engagement surrounding the song to spotlight the systemic issues plaguing law enforcement in Nigeria

Zlatan - Soro Soke

Omoniyi Temidayo Raphael is a Nigerian rapper and singer whose stage name is Zlatan Ibile. The song titled, “Soro Soke (speak Out)’’ deepens the slogan of the #EndSARS protests. He laments, among other things, that he was born on December 19, 1994, but the government never “gave a fuck.’’ He expresses disgust at the level of chaos in the country worsened by police brutality.

Dotman - Naija (#EndSARS)

Tunji Oladotun Alade, otherwise called Dotman, is a prolific Nigerian singer, rapper and performer. He has released several songs bordering on socio-political issues. His #EndSARS song to the campaign against police brutality is a testament to his musical diversity and sensitivity to the plight of the helpless Nigerians. In his language (Yoruba), he narrates how on his way to get menthol for catarrh he was arrested by officers of the now disbanded Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad who dehumanised him. He later ended up in a police cell for refusing to give the officers a bribe. It is a mirror of the pathetic situation in the nation’s policing system.

Shasha Damilola Alesh, popularly known as Dice Ailes, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and rapper. His track, "No One," serves as a powerful solidarity anthem. The song condemns the extrajudicial killings of Nigerian youths by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), a unit repeatedly accused of violence and human rights abuses.
